Meet Victor Williams Retired Special Agent Homeland Security Investigations

We had the good fortune of connecting with Victor Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

November 22, 2023

Hi Victor, what was your thought process behind starting your own business? When I retired from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) as a Special Agent in Miami on January 1, 2018, I wanted to continue my work in anti human trafficking and bought the domain Quest2freedom but life had other plans. I worked Six months with an organization called Erase Child Trafficking educating police officers around the country on human trafficking (HT) when I took an opportunity to work Team Security for the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club for two years. When I departed from the Hawks to head back to Miami, the State of Georgia obtained funding to address HT and I took another position as the HT Coordinator for the State of Georgia for a year.

When I returned to Miami in August of 2021, I was asked by a good friend to take on a non paying position as the Vice Chair of the Miami Dade County HT Coalition and I still hold that position today (10/25/2023). In April 2022, I read an article about a father taking his 15 year old daughter to a NBA basketball game when she decided to go to the bathroom and the next time he saw his daughter was 10 days later after she was rescued from a hotel being sold for sex. This led to me doing an HT presentation for the NBA Security Conference, which was held in Miami before the 2022/2023 season began. The aforementioned experiences reignited my passions to get back into the fight against HT and Quest2freedom, Inc was finally created with hopes of it becoming a well known and respected name in the fight against human trafficking.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others? Quest2freedom is an anti human trafficking (HT) organization that provides services and/or resources to victims of human trafficking in their immediate needs when first recognized as a victim, educate communities on the cultural awareness that created and supports HT and partner with other organizations because no one fights this fight alone. Being a male speaking from passion and experience in the space of HT is rare and I’m most excited about the survivors we assisted in getting their lives back to pursue their dreams and goals.

Quest2freedom is alive and soon to be thriving due to the support of people who believe in our mission such as my good friend and business partner Andre Thompson who is responsible for our website (Quest2freeom.org or Q2F.org), my Board and other friends and community individuals who also believe in our mission and provides much needed words of support. Soon those words will turn into funds so we can execute our mission 100%.

Although I have times of doubt, which doesn’t last long because I believe in our mission and purpose so it’s not been that hard working in this space. I’ve learned a lot and probably would’ve organized more before seeking and obtaining our 501c3 authorization. I would’ve saved a lot of money but note I’m never complaining about the money I’ve spent putting Quest2freedom together because if I don’t believe in Quest2freedom’s mission and purpose no one else will believe and support our mission. I’ve done and continue to do a lot of inner personal work that keeps me focused and optimistic. Hopefully soon Quest2feedom will be registered with the HT National Hotline (Polaris Project) and assisting victims of HT nationally.
